(an´ĭ-mә) in Jung's analytic psychology, the soul or inner being of a person, as opposed to the persona, the social facade presented to the world. Because the inner and outer facades are often opposing, Jung also used the term to refer to the feminine aspect of a man's soul. See also animus.
