Four Times a Day (Medication) Actually means quater die sumendum ie to be taken (sumendum) 4x a day. QID is uglier late Latin (quarter in die) – in classical Latin die was in the day and it was not needed to add the in in; indeed it would have caused a red line in the marking of the exam...
