A data carrier, which consists of a magnetically coated circular disk, made of a flexible material, contained in a protective case. Older PC`s used a 5¼� floppy disks, whilst modern systems use the 3½� size. Older 3½� disks had a capacity of 720 Kbytes, however 1.44 Mbytes is the current standard.
