Wireless Application Protocol defined by the WAP Forum now part of OMA (Open Mobile Alliance). WAP is a set of protocol standards for Internet style interactive services to handheld mobiles (contrast IMode). WAP comes in two major generations which have common application environment, WAE (wireless application environment).
