HMS Fitzroy was a British unarmed surveying vessel of 800 tons displacement originally built as the Hunt Class minesweeper HMS Pinner in 1919, later renamed HMS Portreath and then modified as the surveying vessel HMS Fitzroy. She was powered by coal fired boilers providing a top speed of 16 knots and carried a complement of 87.
