
A group of antipsychotic drugs, thought to act by blocking dopaminergic transmission in the brain. Examples are chlorpromazine and trifluoperazine. Trifluoperazine binds to and inhibits calmodulin and has been used experimentally to block calcium/calmodulin-controlled reactions.
