The Wyandots are a tribe of North American Indians. They are a branch of the Hurons who, in the 17th century, moved from Canada to the right bank of the Detroit River in Michigan and from there ranged into Ohio. In 1832 they ceded their hunting-grounds to the US government in exchange for some tracts about the Missouri Kansas confluence. Found on http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/browse/CXWC.HTM
