A term used to describe a transaction that took place at a higher price than the preceding transaction involving the same security. 
Also called Plus Tick. On the Stock Market, a transaction or quote at a price above the preceding transaction for the same security
A sale of a listed security that occurs at a higher price than the previous transaction. SEC rules state that short sales can only be made on upticks or zero plus ticks. Also called a plus tick.
