The phenolic compound (or derivative of phenethyl alcohol) is a component of essential oils in many plants. The main source for human nutrition is olive oil, but tyrosol is also contained in wine, especially white wine. As an oxidation inhibitor (antioxidant) it has similar positive health effects as resveratrol; see there.
