• (n. pl.) A group of roving Turanian tribes occupying Eastern Siberia and the Amoor valley. They resemble the Mongols.
The Tunguses are a Mongolo-Tata people of east Siberia. With the exception of the Manchus division, they live in small groups and are primarily fishers, hunters, trappers and shepherds.
