Troglodytidae The family consisting of the wrens, formerly also including the thrashes, mockingbirds, and allied forms. Sometimes regarded as a subfamily of Timaliidae called Troglodytinae and so called because of a reference to the tendency of the wrens to enter small crevices and similar areas as they look for food.
