
The Tamoyo was an Italian-built Brazilian submarine of 620 tons displacement launched in 1937 as the Ascianghi. The Tamoyo was powered by Fiat diesel engines providing a top speed of 14 knots surfaced and 7.5 knots submerged. She carried a complement of 37 and was armed with one 3.9 inch gun, two 13 mm machine-guns and six 21-inch torpedo tubes.
