Styxosaurus A “Hell Creek lizard” from Late Cretaceous North America. Its name comes for Styx, the mythical river in Hades, a reference to the type of locality at Hell Creek, Logan County, Kansas. Named by U. S. paleontologist Samuel Paul Welles in 1943.
