Prosaurolophus (s; meaning `before Saurolophus`, in comparison to the later dinosaur with a similar head crest) is a genus of hadrosaurid (or duck-billed) dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of North America. Prosaurolophus was a dinosaur of the Cretaceous period. It was a large, duck-billed dinosaur, about eight metres long. The head of Prosaurolophus was low, and had a small crest running from the tip of the snout.
