Pawpawsaurus, meaning `Pawpaw Lizard`, is a nodosaurid ankylosaur from the Cretaceous (late Albian) of Tarrant County, Texas, discovered in May 1992. Pawpawsaurus “Paw Paw lizard” from Early Cretaceous eastern Texas. It was named for the eastern Texas Paw Paw rock Formation, Tarrant County, in which it was discovered in 1989 by twelve-year-old Johnny Maurice. Named by Lee in 1996.
