In Greek mythology, the Oceanides (or Oceanids) were forty sea nymphs of the ocean. They were the daughters of Oceanus and Tethys.
Oceanides Any of the ocean nymphs believed to be the daughters of Oceanus and Tethys. Each of these nymphs (said to be 3,000) was the patroness of a particular spring, river, ocean, lake, pond, pasture, flower, or cloud.
