The red grape variety is a new breed between Ohanes x Purple Cornichon (Olivette Noire). It was crossed in Australia in 1929 by the breeder W. Poggendorf, the selection was made in 1939 and it is used as a winepress and table grape. In 2016 no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
