
Monoclonius (meaning `single sprout`) is a dubious genus of herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaurs found in the Late Cretaceous layers of the Judith River Formation in Montana and the uppermost rock layers of the Dinosaur Park Formation in Alberta, dated to between 75 and 74.6 million years ago. Monoclonius was a dinosaur of the Cretaceous period. Monoclonius was a medium-sized dinosaur about six metres long similar to Triceratops with a horn on its nose and a short frill at the back of the head protecting the neck.
