Link Connection Subsystem
Location Services. The ability to determine the location of a mobile for emergency calls (see E911) or other purposes (see LBS). LCS techniques include uplink TOA Time of Arrival (triangulating from arrival time of a packet at several base stations), Cell Identity - CI, Observed Time Difference - OTD (and EOTD, both triangulating on transit time from several base stations to a mobile), AOA - Angle of Arrival, GPS - Global Positioning System, and Timing Advance.
