The Koryu was a Japanese Soryu Class aircraft carrier of 10050 tons displacement launched in 1939. The Koryu was powered by 8 Kanpon boilers providing a top speed of 30 knots. She was armed with twelve 5 inch anti-aircraft guns arranged in pairs and twenty-four smaller guns and carried between 30 and 40 aircraft.
