The Karukaya was a Japanese Wakatake Class destroyer of 820 tons displacement launched in 1923. The Karukaya was powered by three Kanpon oil-fired boilers providing a top speed of 31.5 knots and carried a complement of 110. She was armed with three 4.7 inch guns; two anti-aircraft machine-guns and four 21 inch torpedo tubes arranged in two pairs.
