HMS Imperieuse was a British first-class cruiser of 8400 tons launched in 1883. She had a top speed of 17 knots and was armed with four 9.2 inch and ten 6 inch guns. The first ship of this name in the British navy was a French prize captured in the Bay of Spezzia by the Captain in October 1793.
