Ephorus

Ephorus (s; Ἔφορος Ephoros; c. 400 – 330 BC), of Cyme in Aeolia, in Asia Minor, was an ancient Greek historian. Information on his biography is limited; he was the father of Demophilus, who followed in his footsteps as a historian, and to Plutarch`s claim that Ephorus declined Alexander the Great`s offer to join him on his Persian campa.....

Ephorus

Ephorus (ef'urus) , c.405–330 B.C., Greek historian, b. Cyme in Aeolis; pupil of Isocrates. His chief work is a universal history, in 30 books, of which only fragments survive, arranged by subjects. He was widely quoted by the ancients, notably by Diodorus Siculus.
