The Bremse was a German gunnery training ship of 1460 tons displacement launched in 1931. She carried a complement of 192 and was variously armed with four 5 inch guns and two 20 mm anti-aircraft. She had a top speed of 27 knots and was also equipped for mine laying. The Bremse was seriously damaged during an attack by the Fleet Air Arm in May 1940...
