The Andenes was a British-built Norwegian corvette of 925 tons displacement launched in 1941 as HMS Acanthus. The Andenes had a top speed of 16 knots and carried a complement of 85. She was armed with one 4 inch anti-aircraft gun; one pompom; one machine-gun and a depth charge thrower.
