A radio modulation technique which uses transmissions at low power on the widest practical range of radio frequencies. Could be understood as an extreme form of Wideband CDMA. UWB presents problems of spectrum allocation since it uses as much of the radio spectrum as technically practicable. Formerly used only for covert and military purposes but now proposed for commercial use.
