The Smeul was an Austrian-built Romanian torpedo boat of 260 tons displacement launched in 1914 as the Austrian torpedo boat 83F. The Smeul was powered by Yarrow boilers providing a top speed of 28 knots when new. She was armed with two 11 pdr guns two machine-guns, but despite her designation, no torpedo tubes.
