Hypophosphites are salts of hypophosphorous acid, especially certain medicinal salts, chiefly the hypophosphites of potassium, sodium, and calcium. They have in the past been used with considerable advantage in disorders of the blood and the digestive organs, and were also found of benefit in consumption, although failing to effect a cure.
