Desmarestiaceae is a family of brown algae, one of two families in the order Desmarestiales. There are three genera in this family. Two are monotypic, Himantothallus (species name Himantothallus grandifolius) and Phaeurus (species name Phaeurus antarcticus). These are both endemic to Antarctica.
