cathelin logo #10444Protein (11 kD) isolated from porcine neutrophils that was originally described as being a cysteine protease inhibitor though subsequent reports have suggested that this is due to contamination with PLCPI. Cathelin-like sequences are found upstream of several antimicrobial peptides (protegrins) and are expressed in the pro-peptides.
