
brachiathon 1. A mode of locomotion, characteristic of some arboreal animals, in which the animals swing from one handhold to the next. It is well developed in gibbons. 2. Locomotion in a position of suspension by means of the hands and arms, as exhibited by monkeys when swinging from branch to branch.
