The Tamoio was a Brazilian submarine of 615 tons displacement launched in 1937 as the Avcianghi. The Tamoio was powered by Fiat diesel engines providing a top speed of 14 knots surfaced and 7.5 knots submerged. She carried a complement of 37 and was armed with one 3.9 inch gun; two 13 mm machine-guns and six 21 inch torpedo tubes.
