The Leonardo Da Vinci was an Italian Marconi Class ocean-going submarine of 1036 tons displacement launched in 1939. She was powered by Adriatico diesel engines providing a top speed of 18 knots surfaced, could dive to a depth of 60 fathoms, and was armed with two 3.9 inch guns; four machine-guns and eight 21-inch torpedo tubes.
