
Aetosaurus, Aetosaurs An eagle lizard from Late Triassic to Early Jurassic southern Africa. Its name, eagle (skull) lizard, comes from Greek, aetos, eagle. Some modern sources incorrectly indicate that Aetosaurus is derived from the Latin aetas, age, and supposedly means old lizard.
