The Laplace was a French Lagrange Class submarine of 836 tons displacement launched in 1917. The Laplace was powered by two sets of Sulzer diesel engines providing a top speed of 10 knots surfaced and 5 knots submerged. She carried a complement of 47 and was armed with two 14 pdr guns and eight 17.7 inch torpedo tubes.
