Azariah Flagg

Azariah C Flagg was an influential American politician. He was born in 1790 and died in 1873. He was appointed Secretary of State in 1826 by Governor Clinton, and served until 1833, was Controller of New York from 1834 to 1839 and 1842 to 1846, and was a member of the 'Albany Regency' and one of the founders of the Barnburner faction.
