  1. TD-CDMA
The TDD mode of operation for UMTS UTRA. Intended for use in unpaired spectrum, where FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) is not used. There are two modes - original TDD with a chip rate of 3.84 Mcps operating in a 5MHz bandwidth to co-exist with the UTRA FDD mode and TD-SCDMA with a chip rate of 1.28 Mcps option operating in a bandwidth of 1.6MHz where UTRA FDD spectrum co-existence is not necessary. The original TDD is intended to provide local area coverage and unsymmetrical uplink vs. downlink bit rate at a higher bit rate than FDD.

  2. TD-CDMA
`TD-CDMA`, an acronym for `Time-division - CDMA`, is a channel access method based on using spread spectrum across multiple date=2002-->--> It is shown that a mixture of Time division multiple access|TDMA and CDMA provides better quality of service for multimedia communications in terms of data thro...

  3. TD-SCDMA
Time Division duplex Synchronous CDMA. The narrower band version of TD-CDMA mode of operation for UMTS UTRA. Intended for use in unpaired spectrum, where FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) is not used. Promoted by China, where it may bring the advantages of unsymmetrical uplink vs. downlink bit rate to both local and wide-area coverage.

  4. TD-SCDMA
`Time Division Synchronous pages=4, 25–28-->--> is an air interface<ref name="whatistdscdma"/> found in UMTS mobile telecommunications networks in China as an alternative to W-CDMA. Together with TD-CDMA, it is also known as `UMTS-TDD` or `IMT 2000 Time-Division` (`IMT-TD`).<r...

13 February 2012

This day in history:
The fifth queen of Henry VIII was Catherine Howard. Her father was very poor, and Catherine lived mainly with Agnes, widow of the 2nd duke of Norfolk. Henry was evidently charmed by her and he was privately married to Catherine at Oatlands in July 1540. In November 1541 Archbishop Thomas Cranmer informed Henry that his queen's past life had not been stainless. After some denials the queen herself admitted that this was true; but denied that she had misconducted herself since her marriage. Some fresh information, however, very soon came to light showing that she had been unchaste since her marriage; a bill of attainder was passed through parliament, and on the 13th of February 1542 the queen was beheaded. read more
