    A reflex in an infant that enables feeding. When the roof of the baby's mouth is touched, the baby will begin to suck to take food in, either through a bottle or the breast. The sucking reflex is not fully developed until about 36 weeks, so premature babies may have a weak sucking reflex.

This day in history:
On 10th February 1996, a computer, Deep Blue, beat Russian Garry Kasparov, the greatest chess player on the planet, and mankind’s place in the order of things was reshuffled. The match immediately became an iconic symbol of the advances made in artificial intelligence and supercomputing. Kasparov has since retired, like Deep Blue, which now resides in a museum. He has become a vocal advocate for democracy in today’s Russia. read more
