Step-Down Unit

A special unit of the hospital that is designed to provide care for patients who need less monitoring than necessary while in Intensive Care Units, but require more monitoring than typical patients on the main unit. This can pertain to both mother or baby before or after delivery. Specially trained nurses will monitor the patients needs.
