    The `RP-3` (for `Rocket Projectile 3`), was a British air to ground rocket used in the Second World War. The use of a 60 lb (27 kg) warhead gave it the alternatively name of the `60 lb rocket`. They were generally used by British fighter-bomber aircraft against targets such as tanks, trains, motor transport and buildings, and by Coastal Command and RN aircraft against U-Boats and shipping.

    The `RPG-43` (`R`uchnaya `P`rotivotankovaya `G`ranata) was a HEAT (High Explosive Anti-Tank) hand grenade used by the Soviet Union during the Second World War.It entered service in 1943, replacing the earlier model RPG-40. The RPG-43 used a shaped charge HEAT warhead, whereas the RPG-40 used the simpler HE (High Explosive) warhead. The RPG-43 had a penetration of around 75mm of RHA at a 90 degree angle. This day in history:
The Royal Suspension Chain Pier was opened on 25 November 1823 with a procession and firework display, but, to the disappointment of the town, without royalty being present. It proved an immediate success with both cross-channel travellers and also with promenaders who were charged an admission of two pence or one guinea annually. The pier also attracted many artists with its graceful outline, including Constable and Turner. read more
