    Found on http://www.encyclo.co.uk/visitor-contrib

  2. open circuit
[n] - an incomplete electrical circuit in which no current flows
    Found on http://www.webdictionary.co.uk/definitio

  3. Open Circuit
    1) Having a break in a conductor or, for another reason, not having a complete path for electrons to flow.
    2) Said of an amplifier, having nothing feeding the input.
    Found on http://www.testing1212.co.uk/a.htm

  4. Open Circuit
This is one of two types of circuit fault (the other being a short circuit). In an open circuit fault, there is a break in the circuit. This break will prevent any current from flowing. Open circuit faults register on an ohmmeter with an extremely high (ideally infinite) resistance

  5. Open Circuit
A break in an electrical circuit that prevents current from flowing.
    Found on http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/music%

  6. Open Circuit
The lack of electrical contact in any part of the measuring circuit. An open circuit is usually characterized by rapid large jumps in displayed potential, followed by an off-scale reading.

  7. open circuit
noun an incomplete electrical circuit in which no current flows
    Found on http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/web

  8. open circuit
for a given terminal pair, electric circuit without a continuous path between the two terminals of the pair
    Found on http://www.electropedia.org/iev/iev.nsf/

  9. Open Circuit
A break in an electrical circuit that prevents normal current flow.
    Found on http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/Gl

  10. Open Circuit
In electronics, an open ciruit is a conducting circuit which is incomplete, or is interrupted at some point.

  11. open-circuit
qualifies an input, output or transfer immittance when the other ports have zero terminating admittances, or a forward or reverse transfer ratio when the port corresponding to the numerator has zero terminating admittance NOTE - Examples in IEC 60027-2 are the open-circuit output impedance, the open...

  12. opening time of an output-break circuit
for a relay which is in the release condition, the time interval between the instant a specified value of the input energizing quantity is applied under specified conditions and the instant when the output-break circuit first opens
    Found on http://www.electropedia.org/iev/iev.nsf/

  13. opening time of an output-make circuit
for a relay which is in an operate condition, the time interval between the instant the input energizing quantity is removed under specified conditions and the instant when the output-make circuit first opens

11 February 2012

This day in history:
On 11th February, 1858, a 14 year old French peasant girl, Bernadette Soubirous claimed to have seen visions of the Virgin Mary at her native Lourdes. She also revealed that the waters of a spring near a grotto in Lourdes had been given healing powers by the Virgin. Eventually, the Roman Catholic church decided that the visions were authentic. Franz Werfel wrote the novel, Song of Bernadette, based on the story of Bernadette's visions. read more
