  2. MPEG-2
The standard for compression of progressive scanned and interlaced video signals with high quality audio over a large range of compression rates with a range of bit rates from 1.5 to 100 Mbps. Accepted as a HDTV and DVD standard of video/audio encoding.
    Found on http://www.zoo.co.uk/~z0001325/Glossary.

  3. MPEG-2
(compression, standard, algorithm, file format) A variant of the MPEG video and audio compression algorithm and file format, optimised for broadcast quality video. MPEG-2 was designed to transmit images using progressive coding at 4 Mbps or higher for use in broadcast digital TV and DVD. An MPEG-2 ...

  4. MPEG-2
An encoding standard designed as an extension of the MPEG-1 international standard for digital compression of audio and video signals. MPEG-1 was designed to code progressively scanned video at bit rates up to about 1.5 Mbit/s for applications such as CD-i. MPEG-2 is directed at broadcast formats at...

  5. MPEG2
This is a standard established by the Moving Picture Experts Group for transmitting broadcast-quality images equivalent to S-VHS. It is one of the compression technologies used in DVD and digital television.

  6. MPEG2
Compared to MP3, MPEG2 provides higher quality music compressed to 70% of its original size and accommodates up to 48 audio channels and sample rates up to 96kHz

  7. MPEG2
Standard for television transfer rates between 3 and 10 Mbit/s (ISO 13818)
    Found on http://www.isomatic.co.uk/WBGlossary.htm

  8. MPEG2
Unlike MPEG1, this newer standard has more compression power at any given level of picture quality. Very often quality goes hand in hand with bit-rate: the higher this rate, the better the quality and the larger the files. MPEG2 is able to distinguish between static and moving parts and therefore stores only those parts of the picture which ch…

  10. MPEG2
MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) is now used as a generic term referring to the methods used for compressing digital video data to enable efficient data transfer and storage.
