Home Birth

A birth that occurs outside of the hospital or birthing center. Generally, a home birth takes place in the mother's home or the home of a friend or family member. A midwife usually delivers the baby when a home birth is chosen. Only mothers that are expecting a normal, vaginal delivery free of complications should attempt a home birth.
