First Degree Laceration

A minor laceration of the vaginal mucus membrane or the skin. The majoirty of first-degree lacerations are very small and require little to no stitches. The lacerations generally heal quickly and cause little or no pain during the recovery period. Broader term(s): Obstetric Laceration Perineal Tear
