  1. Electron
A subatomic particle having a mass of 0.00054858 amu and a charge of 1-.
    Found on http://home.nas.net/~dbc/cic_hamilton/di

  2. Electron
An elementary particle with a unit electrical charge and a mass 1/1837 of the proton. Electrons surround the atom's positively charged nucleus and determine the atom's chemical properties. In our diagrams, an electron is represented by this:

  3. Electron
A tiny speck of electric charge, so-far impossible to break into smaller pieces, weighing in at 9.109 × 10-31 kg and a charge of 1.602 × 10-19 Coulombs. An electron is so small that its 'size' is a nebulous concept; if it were a little round ball, it would be about 10-15 m across.

  4. Electron
In chemistry, an electron is an atomic particle carrying a unit charge of negative electricity, having a mass of 1/1837 of that of a proton.
    Found on http://www.encyclo.co.uk/nol.php

  5. Electron
A negatively charged elementary particle that normally resides outside (but is bound to) the nucleus of an atom.
    Found on http://hesperia.gsfc.nasa.gov/sftheory/g

  6. Electron
the negatively charged elements of an atom which circle the nucleus. If an electron is lost the atom becomes a relatively positively charged ion. It has been ionised .

  7. Electron
The electron is a low mass particle ( 1/1836 that of a Photon ) with a unit negative electric charge. In simple terms the electrons are said to orbit around the Nucleus of Atoms . Positively charged electrons can also exist, these being known as Positrons . The electrons is closely related (identical in fact) to the Beta Particle .

  11. Electron
An elementary particle with low mass, 1/1836 that of a proton, and unit negative electric charge. Positively charged electrons, called positrons, also exist. See also Beta Particle.

  12. Electron
Electrons are negatively charged elementary particles, which encircle the positively charged core of an atom. Freely moving electrons can transport an electrical current.

9 November 2009

This day in history:
On 9 November 1989 the Berlin Wall was finally breached by jubilant Berliners , unifying a city that had been divided for over 30 years. The 28-mile (45 km) barrier dividing Germany's capital was built in 1961 to prevent East Berliners fleeing to the West, but as Communism in the Soviet Republic and Eastern Europe began to crumble, pressure mounted on the East German authorities to open the Berlin border. At midnight on 9th November East Germany's Communist rulers gave permission for gates along the Wall to be opened after hundreds of people converged on crossing points. They surged through cheering and shouting and were be met by jubilant West Berliners on the other side. read more
