1. Biacore
   Proprietary name for an instrument that uses surface plasmon resonance to detect the binding of a substance to the surface of a flow chamber. Using this machine it is possible to measure the on- and off-rates for the binding of a molecule to a defined surface - for example the binding of an antibody to the antigen-coated surface of the flow cell or of ligand to an immobilized receptor.
