Charles John Huffam Dickens, one of the most famous English Victorian era authors, who wrote numerous highly acclaimed novels including his most autobiographical David Copperfield was born at 13 Mile End Terrace, Portsmouth (now the Dickens Birthplace Museum) on Friday, 7th February, 1812.
